Adam B. Edgecombe

Adam B. Edgecombe is a Partner at Cobb & Gonzalez, P.A., where he focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation, particularly in the areas of construction law, real estate law, and business law. He represents clients such as general contractors, subcontractors, developers, property managers, and small businesses. Adam is especially well-connected in the roofing industry and regularly advises roofing contractors throughout Florida on legal and operational matters, including licensure issues and DBPR complaints.
Beyond litigation, Adam also handles transactional matters like construction contracts, commercial leases, and business agreements. He has significant experience defending clients in premises liability and personal injury cases.
Known for his client-first approach, Adam is practical, approachable, and focused on efficient, cost-effective solutions that reduce stress and resolve disputes swiftly.
A Jacksonville native, Adam has lived in the city for more than 44 years. He grew up in San Jose and attended The Bolles School. He earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Florida, and his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2009, graduating in the top 12% of his class. While there, he served on the Editorial Board of the Florida Coastal Law Review.
In the local community, Adam was appointed Vice-Chairman of the City of Jacksonville’s Public Nuisance Abatement Board in 2021. He also serves as the Jacksonville Bar Association’s delegate to the American Bar Association and is a board member of Friends of James Weldon Johnson Park.
His civic involvement includes board roles with ImpactJax and the Chamber’s Downtown Council. He’s a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association and the Associated Builders and Contractors.
Since 2012, Adam has contributed to the Florida Board of Bar Examiners as both a test question author and exam grader.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys Gator sports, live music, time at the beach or pool, and biking around his Miramar/San Marco neighborhood with his family.

- Obtained judgment in excess of $750,000.00 against FedEx for breach of contract on behalf of a former FedEx business partner.
- Successfully defended land developer when buyer of land cancelled its purchase of several acres of property and sued developer for breach of contract, and in the process obtained an additional $1.3M for the client on the purchase price of the land.
- Successfully represented client-lender in foreclosure of 12 separate mortgage loans against custom home builder and in collecting on balances owed, totaling over $1,000,000.00.
- Represented general contractor in lien foreclosure claim in excess of $300,000.00 on large commercial project and obtained full payment, plus attorney’s fees, costs, and interest.
- Successfully defended subcontractor client in multi-party complex construction litigation case involving allegedly defective construction of townhomes.
- Successfully represented electrical contractor in construction defect claim against supplier regarding full replacement of stadium lights at an NFL stadium.
- Successfully discharged multiple fraudulent liens for general contractor when a disgruntled subcontractor recorded fraudulent liens against high-value properties.
- Successfully obtained payment in excess of $250,000.00 for subcontractor client when general contractor for large municipal project went out of business while project was still ongoing.
- Have successfully foreclosed on dozens of construction liens in order to obtain payment owed to clients.
- Served as outside liability counsel for national property management firm, including analyzing claims and developing defense strategy and locating, retaining, and working with local counsel where required.
- Obtained dismissal for landlord wrongly named in premises liability suit.
- Within less than two months after initial Complaint was filed, successfully settled premises liability claim for less than 10% of original demand.
- Represented major national retailer in premises liability matters throughout Florida.
