Yesterday, I had the privilege of accepting the Group Professionalism Award at The Florida Bar Annual Convention in recognition of the 2024-2025 YLS Institute. The Institute is hosted by the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, of which I am Board member. During the 2024-2025 Institute year, I worked alongside Sarah Morris to bring the event to life. Since 2025, I’ve had the privileged of continuing the charge of the Institute as the Chair. The Institute is a five-part lunch and learn series that is hosted in the Chief Judge’s chambers. The event aims to connect young lawyers and local law school students directly with judges in the Fourth Judicial Circuit, as well as with members of the mediation/arbitration community, and beyond. The event was nominated by the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association and the Standing Committee on Professionalism made the selection. I am proud to have brought some attention to the hard work and volunteer hours that the JBA YLS puts into our legal community and grateful to have been able to accept the award on the organization’s behalf.
